ODD NIGHT #26

Flame Club

DJ Dedans, Clape Policrome, godwana, Cristian Nănculescu

16/03/2019 20:00

Mântuleasa 4, Bucharest, Romania

State of facts: How can the understanding of a very important thing produce the effect of a surprise? Like when you see someone getting closer to you and you start recognizing their features. Someone unexpected, who just couldn’t be there, at that precise moment: the gaze remains fixed. And deep down the constant feeling of something essential being forgotten.

State of affairs: Flame Club – music, dance, spontaneous readings and spoken words.

The one who nowadays learns about the troubadours of the Middle Age doesn’t know how to relate to the marble floors that welcome us in almost any staircase out there in the city. You are always told that a line is a multitude of points, a group. The night will also mark the launch of our book Dance floor/ Waiting room, a selection of observations on impossible dance floors, noted during October 2018, in Bucharest.

You are free to bring your own drinks to the party.

Biographies

DJ Dedans

DJ Dedans (for dance) (FR) – author of pop-songs and adept of non-idiomatic improvisation at his origins, DJ DEDANS currently dreams of a world that dances without break, as much on repetitive rhythms as on deep silence. The dance floor explodes like a volcano, it goes out into the sea and reappears in the form of vapors, all in a matter of minutes.

Clape Policrome

Clape Policrome (cheesy raw pop abstraction) (RO/ BE) is an improvisation group, at times noisy but equally pop, the result of the meeting between Antoine Herran, Florence Cats, David Jarrin, Robert Blaj, Bogdana Dima and Alle Dicu. After a series of improbable recordings that took place in a reverbing room of downtown Bucharest, the group performed live for the first time in February 2019, in Brussels.

godwana

godwana is a phonic misreading of the supercontinent that formed after the Neoproterozoic era, which started as a fresh musical project between Robert Blaj and Sergiu Nisioi. It explores the spectrums of collision and confluence between tectonic noise, pluri-organic geomorphologies and rythimc-textural biodiversity.
